Genesis House and Employment
Transitional Employment Program
Genesis House provides a Transitional Employment (TE) program in which members have the opportunity to work part time at community businesses for competitive wages. The TE program offers a variety of entry level positions available to members on a temporary basis who wish to build work experience, refine work habits, regain self-confidence, earn money and increase job references. Genesis House staff and members provide training and coverage options to employers, guaranteeing perfect attendance!

Independent Employment
In addition to the TE program, Genesis House staff also provide support for members who are seeking to get jobs on their own. This support includes job searching, resume help, transportation, interview assistance, referrals, and pay stub processing.

Employment Dinner
For additional support, an Employment Dinner is offered twice per month. This event is an opportunity for both employed members and for members considering employment. Each dinner brings good food and an interesting discussion topic that focuses on skills in the workplace. The cost is only $2.00 ! Check the "Calendar" section to see when the dinners are this month.
Are You a Local Employer?
Genesis House is currently looking to partner with employers in the community. Our TE program offers many potential benefits.
Free Training
Free training is provided because Genesis House staff learn the job first, at no additional cost to the employer. A trained staff will then teach the member the job, ensuring that it is done correctly and efficiently.
Shift Coverage
Another great benefit is that Genesis House guarantees shift coverage. If the member must miss a day, Genesis House staff will perform the work. In this way there is no need to worry about worker reliability.
Other Benefits
Transitional Employment is also helpful because it eliminates many administrative problems. Employers no longer need to worry about recruiting or advertising for the position. They also do not need to pay health insurance for the member or certain other benefits. A tax credit (WOTC) may also be available for up to $2,400 per employee.
Genesis House offers support for its TE positions. This means that Genesis House can help with communication between the employer and the worker. We help solve problems for all parties involved.
In Summary...
Participating in the Transitional Employment program is a great way to both improve your company's employment capabilities and to help the community at the same time. Our TE partners are often recognized in newspaper articles, awards ceremonies, and other community events and publications.
Participating in our TE program is easy. We are only looking for one part-time position in your company. Members in TE typically work for 15-20 hours per week in entry level positions.
Rather than hiring a person, consider hiring Genesis House to fill a position. Transitional Employment is an internationally recognized program that has been successful in many different kinds of companies. It will be a success in your company as well.
